Professor Zhiyuan Zhong

Zhiyuan Zhong is the dean and distinguished professor of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Soochow University, director of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Design and Application, director of Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals Innovation and Translation Center of the State Key Laboratory of Radiation Medicine and Protection, and associate editor of J. Control. Release. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Twente (with Prof. Jan Feijen) in 2002, became a Vice President of Suzhou BioBay (a top Biomedical Park in China) in 2011-2012, and served as an Associate Editor for Biomacromolecules in 2015-2019. His research focuses on polymer nanosystems and targeted drug delivery. He has co-authored 280 papers (# citations >22000, H-Index 77) and is a Highly Cited Researcher in 2018-2021. He is an Editorial/Advisory Board Member of Mater. Today, Biomacromolecules, Mater. Today Chem., Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Nanotechnology, PLoS One, J. Biomater. Sci. Polym. Ed., and J. Gene Med. He is a Chair for biennial SIPCD meetings. He has received Biomacromolecules/Macromolecules Young Investigator Award (ACS), the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award (Humboldt Foundation), Award for Breakthrough Technologies in Drug Delivery Systems in Asia (Japanese Society of Drug Delivery System), National Ten-Thousand Talent Award, and National Outstanding Young Scholar Award. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
